The Department of Defense (DoD) Biomedical Equipment Maintenance Technician Training Group (formerly know as the United States Army Medical Equipment and Optical School- USAMEOS) provides the opportunity to earn an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree with an area of study in Biomedical Electronic Technology . This program is offered in partnership with Aims Community College and the United States Air Force, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserve Units through the DoD Biomedical Equipment Maintenance Technician Training Group (DoD BEMTTG). DoD and USAMEOS courses are transferred into this degree program in accordance with the transfer agreement with the Department of the Army Academy of Health Sciences, U.S. Army, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This A.A.S. Degree is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as medical equipment or biomedical equipment repair technicians . These types of technicians work for hospitals and research organizations. Some work for service and repair businesses that have maintenance contracts with hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities and institutions.
