Kinesiology from Boise State University is a Campus Master Sport degree that prepares you for a Education career. A new graduate program, the Master of Kinesiology (MK) will be available beginning Fall 2009. This program is offered with three areas of emphasis: behavioral, biophysical, and socio-historical, and will essentially add a non-thesis track to the existing Master of Science in Exercise & Sport Studies (MSESS) program. The two programs will be virtually identical with the following exceptions: the MK degree differs from the current MSESS degree in that it will require an additional 3 credits of electives (total of 18 electives) and a 3 credit culminating activity (KINES 600 Assessment (Capstone Course)), as opposed to a 6 credit culminating activity (KINES 593 Thesis) and 15 credits of electives. KINES 600 will serve as the final comprehensive assessment of student knowledge of the major ideas that define kinesiology, particularly the three areas of emphasis offered: behavioral, biophysical and sociohistorical.
