Respiratory Care from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is a Campus Associate Respiratory Care degree that prepares you for a Healthcare career. Cincinnati State offers a comprehensive associate's degree program in Respiratory Care Technology. The program enables the student to develop a wide variety of clinical skills in traditional and nontraditional roles. The student becomes proficient in all areas of respiratory care, such as bedside pulmonary care , life-support systems management, diagnostic testing, pulmonary rehabilitation, and long-term care. The student practices these skills with a variety of other health care professionals in the diagnosis, treatment, and education of the patient. The program is 22 months in duration and includes paid cooperative education and unpaid clinical experiences. Students are eligible to obtain a limited permit to practice as a Respiratory Therapist after successful completion of the first clinical course. Graduates are prepared to: Take the national entry-level exam (CRT) given by the National Board for Respiratory Care Take the national registry exam (RRT) after passing the entry-level exam Apply for state license after passing the CRT exam Credentialing Program graduates may apply for the certification examination and registry examination administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Candidates who pass these exams are recognized as Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) and as Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT).
