Upon completion of the program, students will have a second-year level of understanding in precision surface grinding, as well as an ability to operate various EDM machines common within the industry. Possible occupations include employment as a manual milling machine operator, surface grinder, or RAM or wire EDM operator. Program Objective: The main objective of the Tooling and EDM technician program is to prepare individuals for employment in the Tooling and EDM industry. A graduate will be able to: Demonstrate math, blueprint reading, and measurement skills essential to industry. Have an ability to safely operate a manual milling machine at the entry level. Perform basic tasks required of a surface grinder specialist. Design basic electrodes for RAM EDM operations. Set up EDM simple parts using a manual RAM EDM, CNC RAM EDM , or wire EDM machine .
