Coupled with design classes and advanced math, graduates will be ready to display a wide variety of talents that will make them work-ready and highly desired by the industry. Possible occupations include Apprentice Tool Maker, CNC Programmer/Operator, Machinist , and EDM Operator. Program Objective: To provide focused accelerated training and related theory on manual and CNC machine tools typically utilized in the tooling industry and sought after by employers. A graduate of the Tooling and Machining Technician Program will be prepared to: Demonstrate safe work habits in the operation of shop tools and equipment. Operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders typically utilized in the Tool and Die Industry. Inspect machined parts to very close tolerance specifications. Demonstrate a working knowledge of CNC machine tools . Interpret, write, and edit G-code programming utilized on CNC machines . Apply mathematical formulas to shop practices and machining concepts.
