Diagnostic Medical Imaging Sonography from College of DuPage is a Campus Certificate Radiology degree that prepares you for a Healthcare career. Diagnostic Medical Imaging Sonography (Ultrasound) is a rapidly growing field with ever expanding career opportunities. Diagnostic Medical Imaging Sonography (DMIS) is a clinical discipline involving the use of non-ionizing high frequency soundwaves to create images utilized for medical interpretation and diagnosis by a physician. DMIS is a 15-month advanced certificate program designed for graduates of accredited Medical Imaging programs such as Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Nursing. Classes are conducted on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and occasional Saturdays. Clinical education is provided on weekday/weekends at assigned clinical affiliates. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to take the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers examination in OB/GYN, Abdomen, Superficial Structures and Physics.
