Physicians work in one or more of several specialties, including, but not limited to, anesthesiology, family and general medicine, general internal medicine, general pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, and surgery. According to the U. S. Department of Labor, in 2000, physician employment is expected to grow about 10 to 20 percent by 2010.
