Upon successful completion of this program, students should be able to: Identify and explain the functions of components in residential and light commercial HVAC&R equipment. Describe the cycle of operation of residential and light commercial HVAC&R equipment. Interpret wiring diagrams and building blueprints. Perform specific installation and start-up procedures to insure operational efficiency and safety of HVAC&R equipment. Diagnose trouble in operating safety controls. Cite the procedures of heat loss and heat gain load calculations. Identify how to handle refrigerant and detail potential environment hazards of fluorocarbons. Detail the techniques of servicing equipment and start-up to develop service ability with hands-on experience. Detail duct fabrication and installation in residential and light commercial buildings. Describe the operation of hydronic and oil burner systems. Diagnose trouble in hydronic and oil burner systems. Cite procedures for servicing gas and oil heating systems.
