Established in 1995, Greenville Tech's Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program prepares students in the use of powerful magnetic fields and radio frequencies to obtain cross-sectional anatomical images of the human body. The MRI Program curriculum is offered totally online. The program faculty and support personnel are located on Greenville Tech's Barton Campus in Greenville, S.C. Didactic courses will be taught on-line as day courses 2 days/week (Mon/Wed, 11:00am-1:00pm EST or Tues/Thurs, 8:00am-10:00am EST). All didactic material meets the ARRT Content Specifications and covers patient care, MRI safety, imaging procedures, data acquisition and processing, physical principles of image formation and cross-sectional anatomy. The clinical component totals 495 contact hours (15-18 hours/week) utilizing various approved clinical sites. Additional clinical sites may be established as needed. The MRI program is a two-semester (nine-month) online advanced certificate program designed for the two-year ARRT credentialed radiographer. Upon completion of the program, the technologist will be prepared to challenge the ARRT Advanced Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging .
