Missions from Huntington University is a Campus Bachelor Religious Studies degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. The Ministry & Missions Department at Huntington University seeks to develop in students the commitments and skills necessary to lead others in growing faithfulness to God. Our curriculum which values critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity and change is designed to integrate biblical truth, evangelical theology, church history, and educational psychology and methodology. As a missions major, you will combine core ministry courses with specifically-designed missions classes, taught by professors who have served as missionaries around the world. Our mission is to ?develop thoughtful and faithful leaders who will equip others for effective ministry.? Discipleship-based in our approach, we will help you implement Biblically sound strategies for ministry. Your opportunities to learn and serve abound at Huntington University. We are home to the Link Institute for Faithful and Effective Youth Ministry and our department has a strong affiliation with one of the most effective Youth for Christ chapters in the country. Through extra-curricular activities such as the student organization Global Vision, the Joe Mertz Center for Volunteer Service and spring break and J-term short-term missions trips, you will gain the knowledge, skills and commitments necessary to lead others toward increasing maturity and faithfulness in their relationship with God. The most unique key to our program is the PRIME (Practical Research and Immersion Ministry Effectiveness) Experience. During this seven-month internship, you'll be mentored by effective ministry leaders. PRIME experiences are offered in churches and para-church ministries throughout the United States and around the world.
