Full-time graduate students enrolled in the program should select a permanent advisor prior to completing their first semester of graduate study. A graduate student working for the degree on a part-time basis should select a permanent adviser before registering for the twelfth credit hour. The student, in consultation with his or her advisor, prepares a program of study that reflects individual needs and interests. The advisor, as well as the department's Graduate Studies Committee, the Department Chair, and the Graduate College must approve this program.
