Through your major, you'll take courses such as Prevention and Care of Injuries to the Physically Active, Human Structure and Function, and Physiology of Exercise . For your sport science sequence, you'll take six more classes and participate in preprofessional activities. For your Exercise Science requirements, you'll take classes such as aerobic fitness, physical activity and aging, health fitness instruction, and medical physics lecture and lab. Many scholar-athletes at IUP combine their studies with their interest in sports. A Division II school, IUP is a respected competitor in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in eight varsity sports for men and eleven for women. IUP also offers club and intramural sports.
