MCC's Radiologic Technology Program trains students to perform diagnostic imagining exams and administer radiation therapy treatments. Radiologic technologists are responsible for accurately positioning patients to ensure that a quality diagnostic image is produced. They work closely with radiologists, the physicians who interpret medical images to diagnose disease or injury. After successful completion of the two-year Radiologic Technology Program, students receive an Associate of Applied Science degree and may apply to take the certification exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Mission Statement The purpose of the Radiologic Technology Program is to prepare radiographers who will contribute to the profession by performing functions related to the needs of the patients as determined by the radiologist and attending physician. The mission of the program is to supply students with didactic and clinical experiences to prepare them to competently perform duties of the entry-level technologist. This mission is accomplished through: A structured curriculum with clearly written course syllabi which describes learning objectives and competencies to be achieved for both the didactic and supervised clinical education components.
