Employ the scientific method to solve problems in the laboratory and in the natural environment. 2. Practice safe work habits in an employment setting, including handling and storage of hazardous materials and operation of basic tools and equipment. 3. Demonstrate sufficient mastery of forestry and land management skills for technical employment in the natural resource management. 4. Apply the principles of ecology, soil science, silviculture, cartography, and facilities maintenance and development to sustainable resources management problems. 5.
