The Manufacturing Option of the Operations Technology program prepares individuals for leadership roles in the operations of business, industry and service organizations with a special emphasis on manufacturing skills. Students learn analysis, continuous improvement, quality assurance and problem solving techniques that can be applied toward financial, health care, manufacturing and service/retail fields. In addition to their associate degree , graduates earn a Six Sigma Green Belt certification, become an ISO internal auditor, and are awarded an OSHA 10-hour card. Students take part in lecture-lab structured courses and hands-on demonstrations of course principles assuring student will gain practical knowledge as well as the fundamentals. Those who wish to further their studies may transfer to the best four-year colleges and universities. Program Outcomes Demonstrate principles of applied metrology, material technology and manufacturing processes. Demonstrate appropriate technical communication skills (written, verbal and graphical). Demonstrate principles of human integration into technical operations through ergonomics, workplace safety and supervision. Use continuous improvement techniques to reduce operational waste, improve cost efficiency and increase system productivity. Analyze the cost, performance and value of operations.
