We are hands-on; the counseling skills and rehabilitation techniques learned in the classroom are practiced and evaluated in the field at rehabilitation agencies. Individual student programs are planned by the students and their faculty advisors. A critical aspect of the program is the emphasis on applied clinical experience: students have clinical training in three or their four semesters of study. Rehabilitation counseling graduates hold leadership positions around the country and work with the psychological, social, vocational, and educational problems of people disabled by physical, mental, emotional, or social conditions. The goal is to assist disabled people in achieving the highest possible level of independent functioning. In addition, this program is offered in an online format to those living outside the Buffalo, NY area. Designed with the working professional and career changer in mind, this challenging curriculum is offered completely online. Students will take two courses per semester and earn their degree in less than three years. We work with you to coordinate all of your practica, field work, and internships within your own community. Our online program is fully accreditated by the Council on Rehabilitation Edcuation (CORE) with requirements identical to the coursework students on-campus in Buffalo, NY are completing.
