Program Format: Campus Program Level: Certificate

Coaching & Consulting in Organizations from Adler Graduate School is a Campus Certificate Organizational Psychology degree that prepares you for a Psychology career. The Certificate in Coaching and Consultation in Organizations will focus on learning key dimensions of visioning, clarifying mission, strategic planning, principles of organizational development, alignment of personal and organizational goals, objectives and actions. Participants will learn how Adlerian principles of cooperation facilitate growth of an organizational core culture. Consulting skills will be developed through active dialogue and discussion of cases to promote understanding of essential strategies for implementation of results-oriented changes. Coaching & Consulting in Organizations takes the principles of Adlerian psychology and uses them as a lens through which to view workplace situations. Coaching & Consulting in Organizations looks to assess and redirect the interpersonal dynamics involved when; miscommunication, personality conflicts, differing management styles, poorly defined roles, lack of training, less than optimal leadership and other issues create problems in the workplace. At AGS, we view coaching and consulting work as a natural extension of family therapy and family education. For example, most of us lack the ability to "leave our cares on the door step" when we return home from work at the end of the day, and vice versa. Consequently, stress in the workplace and/or at home directly translates to stress in our various areas of activity and can cause a myriad of problems for both workplace and family systems. AGS believes that by creating a saner, less conflicted workplace, we can directly contribute to the health of the family system. The objective of the CCO Specialty Area Program is to train professionals, in an Adlerian model, to facilitate positive Organization Development work, either as independent consultants or as staff members in an organization. The same interpersonal dynamics exist at work as in any other relationship. In the work place we seek safety, significance and belonging just as we do in all other areas of our life. Most of us have worked in organizations where gossip, buck-passing, office politics, personality issues and lack of team work left little room for safety, significance or belonging. CCO students learn to address these and other interpersonal issues which drag organizations down emotionally and economically. View more details on Adler Graduate School .
