Students also develop and practice techniques of critical analysis and constructive reasoning through courses such as Environmental Ethics, History of Ancient Philosophy , Symbolic Logic, Contemporary Moral Problems and Contemporary Feminist Theory. The Department of Philosophy also includes an ethics program, which seeks to promote a greater understanding of human values and ethical questions. The ethics program provides courses in theoretical and applied ethics, as well as conferences, workshops, lectures and student events such as essay contests.
