Manicuring from Ailano School of Cosmetology is a Campus Certificate Nail degree that prepares you for a Vocational Programs career. Manicure: Students are taught the art of manicuring and hand & arm massage. They also learn hot oil manicures, paraffin manicures, and are lectured on spa manicures. Pedicures, or as Massachusetts requires "Pedicare" are the cleansing of the feet, stress relief with massage and finish with polish. UV-Cured Gels: Students will be taught theory and hands on gel nail technique. Classes include natural nail overlay as well as a detailed tip application class with gel overlay. Nail wrapping: Students learn theory and hands on technique of silk, linen and fiberglass/Backscratchers nail wrapping. Students are required to complete all nail strengthening skill with a grade of at least 85%. French Manicuring: is taught and practiced in several styles including, traditional, angular and tulip, with a variation of colors. Nail Sculpting: a very intense program has been prepared in the art of sculpting nails . Students are taught the chemical theory prior to using nails sculpting products, they are made aware of OSHA's findings, ventilation requirements and first aid. Students learn to control consistency of powder/liquid, natural nail overlay, tip application with overlay, french manicure sculpting, rebalancing and backfill technique. Students practice on family, friends, clients and students. Each student is required to complete TEN sets of free form sculpted nails while in training. Although manufacturers indicate that it takes approximately FORTY sets of sculptured nails before you are considered professional. The OPI Formula 3000 kit will allow you all of that practice. Nail Art: students are taught the basics, stones, decals, glitter, and foils. They also learn some basic free hand painting techniques.
