Purpose and Objectives The Communications Ministries programs provide training for the student preparing for entry level positions in Christian ministries in the areas of writing and drama . Each program also provides preparation for further education in a graduate program. Upon completion of a Communications Ministries degree program, the student will have: * Communication skills that will enable the student to think, write, and speak clearly and effectively. * Learning skills that enable the student to continue developing personally and professionally toward the goal of effective communication in ministry. * Training that will enable the student to enter an area of full-time ministry or have appropriate preparation for excellence in graduate school. * Completed an apprenticeship or senior project in a communication-related ministry, providing field experience and contacts for future ministry opportunities. Our Drama program stretches both your acting and directing skills. In addition to numerous student-led productions throughout each semester, you'll have the opportunity for involvement in our major, bi-annual drama productions. You'll gain experience in a wide variety of genres, such as comedy, drama, musicals, classics, and contemporary works. Graduates of our Drama-emphasis program will be prepared to direct or act in church drama ministries, teach in school drama programs, write scripts, design sets, or launch a drama outreach ministry. Many graduates work in regional and professional theatre companies, and have been accepted into master and doctorate theatre programs.
