Divinity from Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary is a Campus Associate Religious Studies degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. The Associate of Divinity degree program is a two year (66 semester hours) program of studies designed especially for persons who are thirty (30) years of age or older and do not have a baccalaureate degree. Exceptions to the age requirement may be granted to spouses of regularly enrolled students. The Curriculum is distributed among the following fields: Biblical Studies, Theological-Historical Studies, Church Ministries, and Christian Education. Because this program does not contain all of the core educational courses (English, history, government, science, and math), it will not provide a foundation for admission into bachelor's or master's studies; it is a terminal degree program. PERSONAL OBJECTIVES Upon satisfactory completion of the Associate of Divinity degree program the graduate should be able to accomplish the following objectives: 1. minister at an acceptable level as a pastor or in a ministerial capacity in a church. 2. demonstrate leadership skills as required in the ministry of a local church. 3. understand and be able to communicate essential biblical truths in the context of Christian ministry. VOCATIONAL OBJECTIVES The preparation acquired through this program is at the junior college level. The Associate of Divinity program, nevertheless, allows the student to prepare for a number of opportunities in Christian ministry . It is recommended for older students who have been called to serve in any of the following capacities: Pastor or Associate Pastor; Minister of Christian Education; Minister of Youth/Music; Minister of Outreach/Discipling; Minister of Evangelism. The candidate for the Associate of Divinity degree must complete a minimum of eighteen semester hours of classroom work in residence at Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary .
