Environmental Biology from Baylor University is a Campus Master Enviroment degree that prepares you for a Science career. The Master of Science in Environmental Biology is a specialized degree for students who wish to receive advanced education in environmental aspects of biology. The degree is administered through the Department of Biology , but the student takes course work in Biology and in Environmental Studies and in other appropriate supporting fields. Additionally, at least one member of the advisory and examination committees must be from the Department of Environmental Studies. The course work and research requirements for Master of Science in Environmental Biology are outlined below: 1. A minimum of 30 semester hours, including at least 24 hours of course work. These 24 hours must include four semester hours of Research Methods in Biology (Bio 5201 and 5202) and Biometrics (Bio 5412). At least 12 hours of this course work must be at the 5000 level. 2. Six of the 30 semester hours must be selected from 4000-5000 level courses in Environmental Studies. 3. Six of the 30 semester hours must be thesis research (Bio 5V99) and an approved thesis. 4. Up to 4 hours of Seminars in Biology (Bio 5100) and/or Seminars in Biomedical Sciences (BMS 5100) may be applied to master's programs. Repeat credit requires change in topic from previous registrations. 5. Not more than 6 hours of Special Problems in Biology (Bio 5V90) may be applied toward master's degree requirements.
