Career Opportunities During your junior year, you will apply to one of our affiliated or approved hospital programs for your fourth and final clinical year. Our current affiliations include St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL, St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL and Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. Students also have the opportunity to apply to other non- affiliated hospital programs. Acceptance into a clinical program will generally require a 2.75 minimum grade point average. With a B.A in medical technology from Blackburn, graduates may begin work in a laboratory . After three years of experience, graduates may want to specialize in areas such as clinical chemistry, hematology, blood banking, etc. The B.A. degree is also a starting point for supervising or directing a medical technology lab and for teaching medical technology to students.
