Teach them to use both oral expression and writing as means of knowing, understanding, and evaluating their experience and their reading, and as a means of sharing their insights with others. 3. Prepare them to enjoy language , literature and culture throughout their lives as a source of knowledge and aesthetic pleasure, a mode of encountering, evaluating and serving diverse minds and attitudes, a vehicle for communication and action, a means of historical understanding, and a source of spiritual insight in a broader sense. 4. Provide students with a specific program to improve and monitor all language skills at each level of course work. Virtually all courses are taught in Spanish.
