Buckeye's Culinary Arts course consists of three programs: Culinary Arts I, Culinary Arts II, and Culinary Arts SP. Combined, these three programs ensure that all of the students learn every aspect of the following positions of the food service profession: * Manager (both kitchen & dining room) * Cashier * Hostess * waiter/waitress * bus person * Grill Cook * Fry Cook * Steam Table Cook * Pantry Cook * Pastry Cook * Baker * Expediter * Dish Washer First-year students are taught in a job rotation. This includes working in the school cafeteria, the Trumpet Room kitchen and dining room, and restaurant cleaning. Equal time is given to each student to determine the specific skill they want to develop. Second-year students are given the opportunity to perform all of the duties associated with working in a full-service restaurant that is open to the public. Second-year students may occasionally work in the school cafeteria. These students are also eligible for school-to-career or early placement where they attend their related class part of the school day and go to work after the restaurant closes.
