Diversified Health Occupations from Buckeye Joint Vocational School is a Campus Certificate Health Science degree that prepares you for a Healthcare career. Diversified Health Occupations / Diversified Cooperative Health Occupations is a two-year program designed to provide the student with the necessary skills required for successful employment in a health occupation. The program is divided into four areas of health occupations: * Nurse Assistant * Medical Assistant * Dental Assistant * Pharmacology During the first year (DHO) instruction will be provided in each areas' various skills, giving the student a solid foundation of knowledge in the health profession. The second year (DCHO) is devoted to cooperative education, where half of the day is spent in classes and the remainder of the day is spent working in the student's chosen profession. Each day students spend 80 minutes in related theory and 160 minutes in the laboratory obtaining hands-on experience. The related classroom will provide instruction in areas such as anatomy & physiology, medications, disease conditions, and other material related to nursing. With instructional assistance in the fully-equipped laboratory each skill will be practiced until students are able to complete them without help. Emphasis is placed on the development of professional work habits and attitudes necessary for success in the health field.
