Your hands-on work will emphasize learning how children develop physically, socially, emotionally, and mentally through classroom instruction and discussion. Students plan the activities, curriculum, even the menus for the children and plan a variety of activities in music, art, science, language, and number work. In addition, students receive training in first aid, recognition and prevention of communicable diseases and recognition of child abuse and neglect. Seniors will also intern at local day care facilities. You can use your training for a career in child care centers, pre-schools, elementary schools, Head Start, or as a teacher's aide.
