Church Music - Keyboard, Voice, and Instrumental from Calvary Bible College and Theological Seminary is a Campus Bachelor Music and Instruments degree that prepares you for a Art and Design career. To enter the Church Music major, the student is required to pass an audition in his chosen applied area. Audition appointments should be made with the Music Department chairperson prior to registration for the student's first semester. If the student is unable to audition on-site, the student may present a tape or CD for his audition. The student should present at least two pieces of contrasting style, classical or sacred, for his audition. Purpose To equip godly men and women for vocational church music ministries. Objectives * That the student develop in his life the Christian character and qualifications necessary for a teaching ministry that glorifies God. * That the student acquire competency in musicianship, leadership, conducting, and personal performance. * That the student develop a personal philosophy of music based on biblical principles that will become the basis for an effective music ministry. Special Requirements All Church Music majors are required to participate in MUMC Calvary Masterworks Chorus, which performs a major sacred classical work at least every other year.
