Capital offers five distinct academic programs for the art major that lead to a bachelor of arts degree or a bachelor of fine arts degree. Students may choose to major in art, fine arts or art therapy, and can earn teaching certifi?cation for elementary and/or secondary education. Program flexibility enables Capital students to complete off-campus internships in such areas as interior design or commercial art . Students have worked for state agencies, advertising agencies and print shops. Advanced standing in art is possible through portfolio ex?amination of work completed independently or at another institution. Students are encouraged to participate in local competitions.
