It prepares the students for a career in research and analysis in solid mechanics. Courses in elasticity, plasticity, damage mechanics, viscoelasticity, viscoplasticity, stability, dynamics, finite elements and boundary integral methods, constitutive methods, fracture mechanics, plates and shells, give the student the necessary knowledge and skill to study the behavior of modern materials and structures as well as advance the state of art.
