The Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy offers a New York State recognized Massage Therapy training program. CNWSMT presents this program in three formats, a full-time day program and both a part-time morning program and part-time evening program. The scope of the massage therapy program is from the basic introductory level, to more advance techniques that may be used in a professional practice. CNWSMT incorporates the New York State requirements throughout the program. Full-Time Massage Therapy Program Full-time programs at CNWSMT are in compliance with all current New York State Education Department requirements. The full-time program is 1,020 hours of classroom instruction concentrated within a nine-month time frame. Both Spring and Fall programs are currently available for incoming students. Full-Time classes are held Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Morning sessions are devoted primarily to instruction in the sciences of the body. Afternoon sessions are dedicated to the theory and hands-on mechanics of therapeutic massage , as well as professional and personal development courses. Clinic hours are in addition to classroom hours and hands-on practice. Spring Program The full-time Spring program takes nine months to complete. Courses begin in February and end in November allowing graduates to take the New York State administered licensing exam in January. Fall Program The full-time Fall program takes nine months to complete. Courses begin in September and end in June allowing graduates to take the New York State licensing exam in August. Part-time Massage Therapy Programs The Part-Time programs are both 1,020 hours of classroom instruction designed in two different formats, the Part-time Morning Program and the Part-time Evening Program. Part-Time Morning Program The Part-Time Morning program meets Monday-Friday from 9:00am - 12:30pm and one Saturday per month. This program begins in February and takes 14 months to complete. Graduates of this program take the New York State licensing exam in August. Part-Time Evening Program The Part-Time Evening program meets 3 evenings per week from 6:00pm - 9:30pm and one Saturday per month. This program begins in mid-October and takes 21 months to complete.
