Learning Outcomes Upon completing the plan of study the student will be able to: Analyze accounting problems, conduct research and communicate solutions both orally and in writing; Perform all steps in the accounting cycle; Analyze financial statements from a management viewpoint and critique financial statements from an outsider's point of view; Record cost accounting transactions and prepare appropriate production reports and financial statements; Communicate with clients in order to assemble tax information and then prepare federal, state, and local income returns for individuals; Process a payroll by maintaining payroll records, preparing payroll journal entries and completing various quarterly and annual tax forms; Set up and employ appropriate computerized accounting and financial software to solve accounting problems; Describe the underlying concepts of the financial statement auditing process and apply those concepts to an auditing engagement; and Analyze and record state and local governmental transactions. Prepare and evaluate state and local governmental financial statements.
