In modern production facilities the plant is often under the control of machinery connected with Ehernet, DeviceNet or ControlNet. Thus, this program has a strong component which includes computers and computer networking. Career Opportunities: The ERA (Electronics, Robotics , Automation) program is an outgrowth of the Electronics Program at Centralia College . As more and more consumer devices have become disposable the program has moved away from consumer electronics and shifted its' focus to automation; the Electronics program now complete this transformation by including Robotics in the curriculum. This shift has met with the agreement of the program advisory committee, a group of industrial experts who meet at least twice a year to advise Centralia College on direction of curriculum.
