The Registered Nursing Program for Licensed Vocational Nurses meets the requirements of Section 2736.6 of the Nursing Practice Act and Section 1429 of the California Board of Registered Nursing Rules and regulations. Upon completion of any of the curriculum options herein listed,the student is eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The program prepares graduates who can contribute to the advancement of nursing science and influence changes in a variety of settings within the health care system. The graduate possesses a repertoire of knowledge, skills, and attributes that serve as the foundation for safe, competent practice and lifelong learning LVNs who enter into the second year of the Nursing Program may opt for one of the three following: A.A. in Nursing, Non-Degree option, or 30-unit option. The 30-unit option is offered and accepted only in the State of California.
