Christian Vocations from Cincinnati Christian University is a Campus Associate Religious Studies degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. The Christian Vocations degree is offered to mature students who wish to prepare for church-related vocations or for extended volunteer work in the church. They must be at least 30 years of age, possess leadership qualities, show evidence of involvement in church activities, and be endorsed by the elders of their local church. They will complete a special application for the degree program and be interviewed by the Admissions and Academic Standards Committee. The degree program will allow the students to take courses that will focus on a particular opportunity in Christian service. The college assumes that the students will have previous studies and experiences which will enable them to benefit from such a program and be ready to serve in a church or parachurch organization. The degree is designed to appeal to second-career or early-retired people interested in pulpit ministry, missionary work, or other forms of ministry. The mature student will be allowed to pursue a personalized degree from the resources available, utilizing previous experiences. Some requirements may have been taken in previous college study. Some substitutions may be negotiated in the general studies and Biblical and theological studies cores; for example, College Level Examination Placement (CLEP) tests may be taken in lieu of English and psychology requirements.
