The Radio Broadcasting program Prepare students for positions in the field of broadcasting including onair programming/production, audio production, broadcast journalism, or broadcast marketing/business (sales, promotion, traffic, and scheduling). Students will participate in work-based learning through KVTI, a 51,000 watt FM radio station located on campus. Advanced students will be assigned KVTI on-air shift hours at various times between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. This program is in session 52 weeks per year with student breaks scheduled on an individual basis. Included in this program are academic courses in communication, quantitative reasoning, and social sciences that provide knowledge and abilities upon which technical skills are built and enhance personal development.
