Pre-Law from Coe College is a Campus Bachelor Paralegal degree that prepares you for a Legal career. The liberal arts education and co-curricular activities available at Coe provide excellent preparation for students seeking to enter law school. Several members of Coe's faculty teach courses across many different disciplines, allowing an interested student the opportunity to explore a diverse and broad curriculum of law based courses. Students are free to design a course of study within their area of personal interest. As early as possible in their undergraduate years, students should coordinate a four-year academic program with the entrance requirements of the law schools in which they are interested. The college's pre-law advisor is available to help students select courses that provide the rigorous academic experience that will not only help students gain admission to law school but to also equip them with the analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal) necessary to successfully matriculate from some of the finest law schools in the country. Pre-Law co-curricular opportunities: In addition to the many academic opportunities, students receive further support and experience through participation in Law Club, a organization of students who are interested in law as a field of study or potential career. The Law Club is designed to help students learn about law school and the prepare for the admissions process, alternative job paths for lawyers seeking to promote and sustain social justice issues, and other law based activities. Law Club brings to Coe's campus several law school admission officials to provide our students with direct exposure to recruiters that can give insider information about how to best position them for law school admission. Students in Law Club have the option of competing on Coe's mock trial team, providing direct experience with the litigation system and a chance to travel to several competitions throughout the Midwest. The mock trial team is extremely fortunate to be coached by a practicing attorney. Program Outcomes: Coe graduates have an excellent record of admission to leading law and professional schools. In recent years, Coe grads have been accepted at law schools such as the University of Iowa, Harvard University, Boston College, Cornell University, Washington University, Lewis and Clark College, and Case Western Reserve University.
