EDUC 724 - Teaching English as a Second Language II 3 credits In this course students examine and develop a variety of methods, approaches, techniques, and materials used in teaching listening, speaking, reading, and writing to speakers of other languages on the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. Prerequisite: EDUC 722 EDUC 726 - Assessment in English as a Second Language 3 credits This course includes an examination of procedures and instruments, standardized and informal, used in second language instruction programs. Instruction in design and use of instruments. Focus on assessment as an integral part of instruction. Prerequisites: EDUC 722 and EDUC 724 or permission of instructor .
