The document also addresses state requirements for certification, and attends to standards set forth by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and professional societies relevant to elementary education. Students are required to take and pass Praxis I and maintain a 2.75 grade point average. The maximum credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 49.
