Chinese from College of the Holy Cross is a Campus Bachelor Area Studies degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. Chinese language study at Holy Cross opens the door to both the rich cultural traditions of China, a civilization spanning several thousand years, and the dynamic China of the 21st century. Students may elect an interdisciplinary major in Asian Studies through the Center for Interdisciplinary and Special Studies with a focus on Chinese language and civilization. They may also elect a "China Track" concentration within the Asian Studies concentration that requires both intermediate-level language study, Asian history, and other non-language courses on China. Students studying Chinese at Holy Cross are encouraged to participate in the spring semester program in Beijing. This intensive language immersion program is located at the Beijing Institute of Education and provides many strong opportunities for students to interact in Chinese in and out of the classroom.
