Program Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this program, the student should be able to: Complete core courses in the discipline (i.e. History AA) Transfer successfully to a four-year institution with a history program. Pursue an advanced degree in the discipline. Have a research paper assignment as a capstone project. Learning and applying research methodologies in the discipline. Expanded core courses offered in the discipline to include Latin-American and Middle Eastern history . Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and analysis in writing. Finding linkages between the past and the present and demonstrate the ability to apply historical perspectives to contemporary issues. Demonstrate an understanding of social, political, cultural, and economic differences within historical context. Career Options The following is a sample of the many career options available for the history major.
