The art department relies heavily on the close interaction of the student with their art advisor in planning schedules and programs. The CSU Pueblo Art Club is a university sanctioned organization that sponsors parties, special events, field trips and the Annual Student Art Exhibit. These activities provide a social focus for students, family, faculty and community while establishing a friendly and informal atmosphere for the department in general . A committee from the Occhiato University Center rewards creative excellence by purchasing award winning student artwork from the Student Art Exhibit each year.
