Nursing Practical Nursing from Community College of Denver is a Campus Certificate Nursing Education degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. The Practical Nursing program prepares the graduate to practice as a practical nurse . The program includes theory, lab and clinical practice. Upon successful completion of this program with a grade of C or better students are eligible to apply for graduation with a Certificate in Practical Nursing (application must be made at the beginning of the second semester) and apply to take the NCLEX-PN licensing exam for the practical nurse. Students are eligible to apply for the Nurse Aide certificate after taking the NUR 105 and NUR 131 courses. The EPN program does not run on a traditional semester schedule. Applicants are accepted first come, first served according to the date theircompleted application packets are received in the Nursing Program office. CCD adheres to the common admission criteria agreed upon by all Colorado Community Colleges. CCD's Nursing program participants in the Colorado Nursing Articulation model through which practical nursing credits are accepted by other Colorado Nursing programs for applicants seeking an associate degree in nursing .
