Classes in ceramics will instruct the student in hand-building techniques, wheel-throwing, and glazing/firing methods. Ceramics electives allow the student to work in functional pottery, vessel sculpture, architectural ceramics, or figure studies. Beginning sculpture classes teach the basics of modeling in clay, plaster mold-making, and casting. Sculpture electives allow students to work in stone or wood sculpture, metalworking, figure modeling, mixed-media, mould making, or furniture and wood design.
