Physical Education Overview The mission of the physical education department is to provide a biblically based curriculum which develops men and women into teaching leaders of the future. The purpose of the bachelor of physical education degree is to prepare students to become effective physical educators, kindergarten through grade 12. Physical education teachers have a strong tradition of changing lives, and our program is set up to develop the future leaders for our schools and give them a sound teaching background. One prerequisite for acceptance into the Teacher Education Department is completion of the Praxis I or Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST). Teacher Education Department The Teacher Education Department prepares teachers for Christian leadership in public and private schools. In addition to offering early childhood and elementary education programs, the Department coordinates and provides core courses for all secondary and K-12 licensure programs. Students who complete Crown College's teacher education programs have demonstrated competency in planning, conducting, and evaluating lessons; in developing and maintaining an effective learning environment; and in guiding the academic and personal growth of students.
