Two emphases are available: media communications or speech communications. Students who select media communications will take coursework in public speaking, interpersonal communications, media writing, and mass media and society. They can select from a variety of electives depending on whether their interest is radio, print, TV, electronic media or public relations. Students who opt to specialize in speech communication also take courses in gender and intercultural communications and the history of communications .
