Music Electronic Technology from CUNY Queensborough Community College is a Campus Associate Music degree that prepares you for a Vocational Programs career. The Music Electronic Technology program, the only one of its kind in The City University, is an innovative program integrating computer, electronic, musical, midi, and ?hands-on? recording studio training to prepare students for jobs in the music industry. Commercial recording and production facilities, jingle houses, radio and television networks, music stores, manufacturers of midi musical instruments, professional recording equipment and repair centers are among the many target areas for our graduates. To achieve that goal the curriculum offers a strong foundation in mathematics, technology and music, together with a broad base of general education in the liberal arts and sciences. Music electronic technology classes are taught in the Music department's technology labs and multi-track recording studios. During their last semester of the curriculum, students are required to participate in the cooperative internship program, which allows them to work as apprentices in professional recording studios. Those students wishing to continue their college preparation in this field will find it easy to transfer credits to New York University's Music Technology curriculum.
