Delgado's Health Information Technology Program is a two-year Associate of Science degree program. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to write the national qualifying examination for certification as a Registered Health Information Technologist. The successful completion of the examination will entitle an individual to use the credentials of a Registered Health Information Technologist , R.H.I.T. The credentials, R.H.I.T., are recognized throughout the United States and will not require an additional examination if an individual moves to another state.
