Medical Laboratory Technician from Dunwoody College of Technology is a Campus Associate Clinical Laboratory degree that prepares you for a Healthcare career. The Career Medical lab technicians (MLT) perform general tests in all laboratory areas including blood banking, hematology, Chemistry, immunology and microbiology. Working with the supervision of a medical technologist or pathologist, a MLT hunts for clues to the absence, presence, extent and causes of disease. The Program Dunwoody's Medical Laboratory Technician program was designed by program manager Matt Zimmer, a 20-year MLT veteran who currently serves as the president of the Minnesota Chapter of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association. The program prepares graduates to assist physicians and medical researchers with laboratory testing, disease diagnosis and treatment. Working in both classroom and lab settings, students gain the skills required to select and prepare samples and to use sophisticated laboratory equipment to analyze them.
