Goals: The program will teach laboratory-based natural biology and biochemistry as well as forensic scientific and legal foundations. The Program will prepare students to enter the workplace and start their careers with an excellent background and knowledge base in the forensic sciences. The student will also have a comprehensive knowledge of the applicable principles of the law as it pertains to forensic science . Objectives: 1. A student will have an appreciation of professional and ethical concepts early in their college education. 2. The student will have a complete science and math educational background in order to be successful in upper level courses. 3. The student will be able to experience and learn scientific principles and applications specific to forensics in a laboratory setting. 4. The student will experience the broad diverse nature of the forensic community by participating in local and national professional organizations. 5. The student will have skills and a level of knowledge that will allow them to be a significant contributor to furthering the science of forensics upon graduation.
